Kingsville Medic 485 responded to over 1,600 incidents in 2021. We strive every day to provide the community with the best possible pre-hospital care, with the latest medical equipment. Our highly trained personnel respond to all types of medical emergencies, including vehicle accidents, trouble breathing, heart attacks, drug overdoses, and falls. We also respond to fire scenes and police incidents in case there are injuries. If you call 911 with a life threatening situation while our Medic is not available, we will respond with another vehicle with trained personnel who will assist you until another Medic arrives. A fire engine is often dispatched with the Medic Unit to provide additional personnel.
We thank you, the citizens of Kingsville, for your continued support. Last year, your donations allowed us to purchase a LUCAS Mechanical CPR Device, and on the very first cardiac arrest call after placing it in service, it proved its worth. The device provided continuous chest compressions with minimal interruptions, allowing our Medic crew to focus on other crucial life-saving interventions, and the patient’s heart was successfully restarted on-scene.
This year we hope to become better prepared to handle serious trauma situations with the addition of specialized trauma equipment that will be especially useful for serious automobile accidents. We also hope to purchase specialized safety equipment for our personnel, as well as fund “Stop the Bleed,” First Aid, and CPR courses to be offered to the public. With your support, we can make all of this happen. We rely on your donations to help us help you.
Thank you,
Kingsville Volunteer EMS Officers
