2022 EMS Fund Drive
Your Support is Needed!
Kingsville Medic 485 responded to 1,914 incidents in a hectic 2021, an increase of 600 calls over 2020. The Officers and members of The Kingsville Volunteer Fire Company are dedicated to providing an exceptionally reliable EMS service for our community. It is the commitment of our volunteers that allows us to provide Medic staffing that is ready to respond in your time of need. In order to maintain this level of dedication, the EMS officers are focused on training our EMTs and Paramedics to the highest standards and supplying them with the equipment needed to provide the best pre-hospital medical care.
We are inspired by the community’s continued support of our company, and we recognize that safety and security are only obtainable through a “whole ommunity” approach. Thank you for standing by your local volunteers and trusting us to keep you safe and healthy.
Looking Ahead
While our members are the heart and soul of the services we provide, our vehicles make those services possible. Our ambulance is 5 years old and has logged over 100,000 miles. This year we expect no less than 1,500 more calls plus trainings and community events. With all this wear and tear, our ambulance is quickly approaching the end of its serviceability and has been requiring frequent repairs. We hope to begin planning for a replacement ambulance later this year with delivery in 2023 or 2024.
More immediately, we hope to replace the Automatic External Defibrillators (AEDs) on each of our vehicles this year. These life-saving devices can diagnose dangerous heart arrythmias and provide an electrical pulse to correct them. When multiple heart-related calls are received at the same time an engine or utility vehicle might be the first to arrive on a heart-related call. With an AED on each vehicle life-saving services can be administered whether an ambulance is available or not.
Sincerely,
Kingsville Volunteer EMS Officers.
